Google Drive offers you 15GB of space for free. You can store important files and docs on Google Drive. At times, you may wish to keep some google drive files only for few date or a timeframe. Today, we will explain how you can set expiry date on Google drive files. If these files reach their expiry date, you can not access them anymore.
To set expiration date on your google drive files you must be a Google Workspace user. The feature is not available for free Google drive account.

- Open the Google Drive account which is connected to Google Workspace.
- Select the file for which you wish to set an expiration date.
- Open the file and click on Share option.
- Type the email address of the person with whom the file will be shared.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to the contact or email address.
- Tap on Add Expiration option.
- Set a specific expiration date for file’s expiry and click on the Done option.

Does the Feature work for Free Google Drive Accounts?
Unfortunately, no. The feature only works for paid google Workspace accounts.
Can we access the files after Expiry Date?
No, once the files have expired you can’t access them on the google drive. The files need to be shared again.
