How to Turn on Spam Blocker on Android
1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android smartphone.
2. Look for the Phone app by Google LLC. Install the app on your Android smartphone.
3. Once you install it will ask you to make it your default phone app. It will proceed only if you do so.
4. Click on the three dots in the top right corner.
5. Now look for the settings option and search for the option Caller ID and spam under the drop down menu of Settings option.
6. Click on Caller ID and Spam and enable the toggle Filter spam Calls. This will turn on the spam blocker on your android device.
7. If you want to see the caller details enable the toggle, See Caller and Spam ID.
How to Turn on Spam Blocker in Google Messages App
1. Open the Google Messages app on your Android mobile phone.
2. Tap on the 3 dots in the top right corner.
3. Click on the Settings option.
4. Look for the Spam protection option in the menu and click on it.
5. Turn on the Enable spam Protection.
6. Enabling it will activate the spam protection in the app. You can now check the blocked messages in the messaging app.
7. To check the spam messages in the spam folder, click on the Spam and blocked option.

Block Calls and Messages using Third Party apps
You can also use the third party apps Airtel app and Truecaller app to turn on the spam protection. With Airtel app, you can check which calls are spam and which are non-spam. You can also block spam messages. For better usage, you can set the third party apps as your default phone app.

You will receive the name and notification for spam as soon as you get an incoming call or message. The spam alert and the caller id will be visible on your phone’s screen during an incoming call. Now it’s up to you whether you wish to attend that call or not.
Use DND Service of Telecom Providers
You can use the DND (Do not Disturb ) service of the telecom provider. You can dial 1909 to turn on the DND service on your mobile phone. This services lets you filter spam calls and messages. You can Send the message START 0to 1909 to block all promotional calls and SMS.
