Google Play Store has different apps for different purposes like productivity, entertainment and gaming. Google keeps adding different apps on the Play Store for making our lives easy but sometimes some scam apps also get listed on the Play Store. Google has recently removed around 150 dangerous apps that are believed to be a part of a scam campaign called UltimaSMS
Google Banned 150 Malicious Apps
All these apps were having different functionalities like some of them were Photo Editors, some were video editors, QR code scanners, fitness apps, mobile scanners etc. Avast which is a premier web security software has reported this campaign UltimaSMS smartphone to track your phone’s location, the IMEI number, the area and country code. It will ask you for your phone number and email address.
After taking your details it will sign you up for a paid subscription of the SMS service which costs from 40 to $50 per month. Every week you will be charged for this service without your approval so Google decided to remove all those apps which were a part of this SMS scam. Let us check out the apps one by one. We recommend that you delete the following apps if they are present on your smartphone currently
