Google Has Stopped All Search and Youtube Advertisment in Russia

Russia and Ukraine are at war nowadays and the whole world’s eyes are on the duo. In a recent move, search engine giant Google has stopped all its search and YouTube Ads in Russia.

This step was taken after the Russian govt asked Google to stop all its ads in Russia. The Russian Govt said that Google is spreading misinformation about the war between Ukraine and Russia.

Following the orders, Google has stopped showing all kinds of ads in Russia be it Display network ads, search ads, etc.

According to the Reuters website, Internet regulator Roskomnadzor in Russia ordered Google to stop showing ads that contain inaccurate details about the ongoing war.

Microblogging website, Twitter has also announced to restrict its service in Russia due to the ongoing war. Russia has also blocked access to Facebook and Snapchat in order to stop the spread of misinformation among its citizens.

Snapchat Inc. said:

“We’re temporarily pausing advertisements in Ukraine and Russia to ensure critical public safety information is elevated and ads don’t detract from it.”

The Russian Internet regulator has asked Google to stop showing Ads in the country. According to the Russian government, Google shows false information about the ongoing war between the two countries.

Google has already paid a fine of 32 million roubles
