Redmi Note 8 was an amazing smartphone launched by Xiaomi. I too have a Redmi Note 8 smartphone  (I switched to Android again from iOS as I find it more useful mainly because iOS lacks a lot of things that one can do with the android).

From past 2 months I was facing an issue in my Redmi Note 8. Whenever I used to get a call the screen used to turn off. This problem had become quite irritating so I thought of visiting a mobile repair centre. But before that I thought of researching about this issue on Xiaomi forums. Then, I came to know that this problem was because of Proximity sensor.

Proximity Sensor:

proximity sensor is a sensor that can detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact with the objects.The object referred is known as the target of the Proximity sensor.

So, I went to the settings section and turned off the screen off setting for calls. If you too are facing the automatic screen turn off issue in incoming calls then you are at the right place. Let us learn how to turn off the proximity sensor in Redmi note 8 smartphone.

 

How to Turn Off Proximity Sensor in Redmi Note 8

Open the settings tab in your Redmi note 8 smartphone

Step 2: Type Incoming call settings in Search bar on the top

Step 3: Different call settings option will be visible to you. Look for proximity sensor settings

Step 4: Toggle the option if it is turned ON. Turn it OFF.

Step 5: That’s all. Now your screen will not turn off while receiving incoming calls.
